Agra Daniel began singing at the age of nine, and for twenty years he hasn’t stopped– even after being forced to flee the Congo due to dangers from war. In his own words, though, he did not study music– rather, he considers what he does a gift from God– and through that gift, he hopes to express God’s glory. He faces many challenges in the camp, however, such as a lack of external support and having to rely on volunteer labor to put together shows– as well as not having much choice besides often volunteering himself as performer, without real pay. He has performed at the Makasi festival.
